lately...

We finished up our last Monday of ASK (After School Kids) Bible study for the semester. The kindergarten girls had a party at Chuck E. Cheese so I got a little night out with my lady.

nice form.
Her sweet teachers made this placemat with all of the memory verses on the back from the semester.
Terri and I took our 3rd grade girls to get yogurt one night. They are the sweetest and have taught me a lot the past few months.
My little Indian boy when I picked him up from preschool.
Last Friday night was our first Friday since mid-August to not have a football game to go to. Daddy brought home a new fire pit and we enjoyed the evening outside.

This dude had strep this week so enjoyed a few popsicles.
Daddy is home earlier in the evenings and it's been abnormally warm for the season, so we have been outside a lot.

B and I were cheering for the very serious soccer game going on.

Honey, Papa and the Smiths...

Last weekend, we wrapped up our football season with some special visitors. Honey and Papa made the trip to spend the weekend with us.
I sent this pic to H&P telling them to hurry up and get here. Boone was on their bed, which is an air mattress in the playroom. We have the best visitors that don't mind sleeping in the playroom.

Friday, we went to eat lunch with Anna Lou. She was in heaven.
It was chilly, but B doesn't care what the temp is. He would prefer to be outside all day every day. My sweet friend Julie gave him this jacket when he was born and now he can wear it!

Friday night at the game, we FROZE!! And...we had more visitors in town... The Smiths! Ashley came to the game with us, while Landon kept their too sweet twins at home. Landon was in town for work and we so excited Ashley and the twins tagged along!!
Frozen fingers played Angry Birds all night.
We all sat so close to keep warm and I looked over during the game to find Anna Lou fast asleep. It was only halftime.

We had an amazing come back win to finish our season!! To make the playoffs,  we needed to win our game and and we needed another team to loose their game. Well...they didn't loose, so we didn't make the playoffs. It's always disappointing to not go to the playoffs, but it was great to finish the way we did.

Saturday morning, Ashley, Landon, Harper and Landry came over. This one couldn't wait to get her hands on them.
This is what Boone thought about me holding the babies. haha! I think it would be a great time to have another baby. ;)

Two little angels that we have prayed long and hard for.  Ashley is the most wonderful mama and these two miracles are so blessed to have her. Landon is a keeper, too. :)

Boone loves his Papa.

Honey made homemade applesauce that was delish!
Sunday, we went to church and then got H&P back on the road. So thankful they came to spend and few days with us! And so thankful just another week till we see them again!!

my people...

My best friends from college came all the way to west Texas to hang out for a weekend. I have looked forward to this for so long. These girls and I go way back, like WAY BACK! We were 18 when we met and now we are well...not 18. We are spread across the state now, and I was beyond blessed that they would make such an effort to come see us. They left husbands, jobs, kids and busy lives to be here!

Jayme and Amanda R. flew in  Friday around noon, so we were just waiting on our fourth, Amanda B.

Amanda B drove in from Austin right before we left for the game. We hit one of our hot spots out here, Taco Villa for dinner. They were so helpful and sweet with my kids. Boone stayed with a sitter and the rest of us were off to cheer on the Panthers.

Saturday, we sat around in our pj's, drank coffee, played with the kids and then headed out on the town as soon as Dave got done working. Amanda B insisted we see George W's childhood home.

We got a mani and hit a few cute shops.
Dave gave me a hotel stay with the girls for my birthday so we checked into our hotel and once again, sat around and talked. We finally got dressed and headed out for dinner. We sat at dinner for two and half hours and continued chatting, because that is what we do.
Sunday morning, we took Amanda R and Jayme to the airport and then Amanda B hit the road.

I am beyond blessed to call these three friends. They impacted my life so long ago and continue to so much years later. They know me so well. They are my people. We can be totally real with each other and their is an unconditional love between us.  We laughed, we cried, we didn't sleep much, we told old stories, we caught up and we simply enjoyed one another. Friends like this don't come around very often and I am so glad to call them mine.

Halloween Week...

We had a busy week starting with Open House at Anna Lou's school. She enjoyed showing us around her kindergarten class.
We were in and out because this one was all over the place!
 Up in the reading nook.

The next night we had our sweet friends, the Kennedy's over for dinner. They moved to Waco on Friday and we are so sad, but happy for their next adventure.
These two little buddies on the dog bed.

Thursday morning the boys wore their costumes to preschool.

I helped with the kids carnival for Graham's class and his "Pumpkin Party."

 Ironman in action.

Halloween night, Daddy was working. :( So is the life of a coach. We got dressed up again as a Permian cheerleader, a monkey and Ironman. I guess my days of coordinating costumes is over as they are getting a little more particular.
We went to a fun block party with some good friends a few neighborhoods over from us.

 The monkey was everywhere.
Sweet Lainey Kate loves her some Boonie.
Graham hanging with some big boys.

sweet buddies.
Girls I am SO thankful for!!

 Eating everything all night!
We went back to our neighborhood to trick 'r treat a little with the Kennedys.
This was our last night with them and it was great minus the daddies working.

I tried to take a pic of the masses of people.
Somehow still hanging on way past his bedtime. Wonder if the sugar had anything to do with it?

Halloween is exhausting!!!, but it was a fun week. We will forever be thankful for the Kennedy Family and how God perfectly placed them here in west Texas right before our arrival this summer. I remember Ann calling me in the spring and telling me the news. I was so excited to have ONE friend in my new hometown. All five of them have blessed us so much and we will always be great friends. Ann was my "go to" for everything. Such a warm, loyal and encouraging friend! We are so happy for their next adventure and grateful for the impact they made on us and the rest of Midland.
