Crash!

We went over to a friends house this weekend to celebrate a birthday and Graham had a little crash. The other kids, including Anna Lou were acting like maniacs jumping in and out of the freezing cold pool and back in the warm hot tub. Sweet Graham, just sat on the step watching the chaos. He got up to see his Daddy who had to come a little late to the party and slipped, falling face first on the side of the hot tub. He busted his lip which bled and bled and bled and chipped his front two teeth. Poor kid. He hardly noticed the teeth but the lip put a damper on his eating and drinking for the night.

Hard to tell in the pic, but his lip was cut pretty deep and the teeth were sharp and jagged. Thankful for my friend Kelly who had a nursing background and helped decide no stitched were needed.
We have a great pediatric dentist back home that we still see, but now we have a great one here in town for any emergencies. The doctor fixed G right up and the teeth are back to normal. His lip is a little bit nasty and will take a while to heal.
This kid is something special. He is so thoughtful, gentle, easy-going and the perfect piece to our puzzle. I just want to bottle his sweetness up! Graham is full of sweet words with no prompting. Lots of "i love you's," 'thanks for making this lunch for me," "I'm so proud of Anna," "you're the best mama," "that girl is pretty" (watch out G), and just plain excitement in his voice to go the park or wherever. Tonight, while putting him to bed, we sang his forever favorite song, Amazing Grace. He stopped me and said, "now this is about us, because we are lost and God finds us because he is good looker." Exactly buddy! LOOKER! I wanted to squeeze him so hard.

So glad our first major crash wasn't really all that bad. We love our Graham-Bo!

lately...

Spring seems to be busy and I have no idea why. Daddy is busy with track and spring football is around the corner. It was hard adjusting back in the routine after spring break. I have "kindergarten-itis!" I'm ready for summer!

Anna Lou goes to gymnastics on Tuesdays and we went to Rosa's right after last week, which meant me and the kids were eating dinner at 4:45. They were hungry, Daddy was going to be late and Rosa's was empty. Works for me!

Our two little reds had western day at pre-school.
After I dropped the cowboys off at preschool, I went and met Ashley and her precious twins in the smallest town ever! She was in San Angelo with her sweet husband for his work and we met at Dairy Queen in between. Totally worth the drive to spend few hours with these three. And the confetti cake blizzard is de-lious.

I picked up the cowboys and they came home with new hats.

 This one didn't last long.
We've been supporting our BU basketball teams.
Saturday morning, Daddy was gone to a track meet and we met a few of our Permain coach's wives at a fun, new park. New to us.

AL loved Baby Aubree.
Daddy took us for ice cream on Sunday night.
This kid finished his and his brothers.
Waving at sis and yelling "Annnna" as she came out of school.
We wrapped another great semester of ASK. (After School Kids Bible Study) These sweet 3rd grade girls were awesome to work with this school year.
 We celebrated at Orange Leaf.

spring breakers and a bug...

We traveled to Tomball/Houston for spring break. We broke up the drive with a stop in Fredericksburg for one night.
We always love Mimi and PawPaw's cute house.

One of our favorite eateries is Hondo's since you can eat outside and the food is great. And you can play Connect Four while you wait.
love that tub.

We had a little fire in the chiminea. Boone was running around with my hoodie on.

The next morning we got on the road to Houston, but made a quick stop for breakfast.

Gotta stop at Buc-ee's. We did not buy those!
But we did get a treat.
This crazy kid kept grabbing the apples at Buc-ee's, so that's what he got.  He missed out on some good junk.
We got to Houston and had dinner with all of our cousins! How awesome that both sides of our cousins live close to each other. And they are friends!

The next day, Uncle Nick had to work, we left the babies at home and Wendi, Dave and I took the big kids to the Houston Live Stock Show and Fair.

I was faking a smile as a stomach bug was quickly approaching. :( boo.

The kids ate some good food, rode the rides and played games.

Then we were back at the Junods where there is always tons of fun. Except also the terrible stomach bug was looming around the house. Boone was dressed like this because we ran out of clothes because he was the next victim. Didn't slow him down one bit!

The hot tub was heated, but the pool was not. A few of the crazies braved the chilly water.

 Brooks swimming across.
We might have done this a few times. A little double buckle in the back seat. We weren't ever going far. :)

 late night hot tubbin'.

Playing in the awesome new treehouse that is almost finished.
So the stomach bug swept through the entire crew leaving only Baby Townley and Graham standing. Mercy! Anna got it first at home, the Friday night before we left. But she bounced back fast and we thought getting to Houston on Monday would be no biggie. We thought wrong.  We saw no signs of it again until I got sick Tuesday.  For most it was over fast, but for a few- not so much. We felt HORRIBLE for bringing that awful thing to the spring break par-tay. The Junods were such troopers and Wendi did not blame us one bit for still making the trip.  If someone polluted my family with that thing, I would not have been so nice. We still had fun and enjoyed our time together, but hoping that thing stays far, far away for a while!! It was worth the drive and worth the bug to see these special peeps!!
