Baby Boone is one year old!! We celebrated a little differently for this birthday, but it worked out perfectly. I love me a good party to plan, but decided it would be good to keep it simple this year with the crazy life we lead these days. A few weeks ago we celebrated with MIMI and PawPaw in Houston and this weekend we celebrated with Honey and Papa and the five of us at home. Our weekends are often very busy and we cram in as much quality time with Daddy as we can. It was nice to lay low on Saturday. We went to lunch with Papa Mike, took long naps, and Honey kept the kids so Dave and I could go to Saturday night church and dinner. Sunday morning we had a special outing with just us five to Klyde Warren Park in downtown. It was fun to do something different and checkout the kids play area and most of all, try the good food!
awesome grilled cheese sandwiches!
B loved it, too!
Red velvet ice cream sandwich! You got to pick your cookie and ice cream flavor!
grilled pimento cheese with bacon. heart attack in a sandwich!
After it got hot and very crowded, we headed home for naps. After naps, we were back outside. MIMI gave B this car and it is such a hit!!
AL and our sweet neighbor with the Barbies at the "pool."
We obviously needed more to eat so we went out to dinner for B's favorite, or maybe our favorite, Mexican food.
They are a lot to handle, B, I know! But they love you so much!!
Back home for a few presents and cake.
Big boy pushing his walker in his new shoes.
B's new chair from Honey and Papa!
Time for cake and a candle!
why not?
After a good bath for B, a pic with their cute chair.
B had gone to bed and had enough cake, but we enjoyed some red velvet for him!
Monday, April 29th, Boone's actual birthday was a pretty normal day. Daddy was home an extra night for a school holiday so he got to see the birthday boy on his actual birthday. We had breakfast and then took Daddy to the airport to say bye for another week. :(
But, it was such a special weekend celebrating our sweet, snuggly, joyful, playful, spunky, precious boy!
